Several members of the Brewer Public Library Knitting Social have been working (along with knitters from other area groups) to knit and collect purple newborn hats for the Click for Babies campaign. By distributing these special hats to new parents/guardians, along with information on infant crying, Click for Babies aims to prevent caregiver frustration that can often lead to shaken babies. This national campaign is headed up by Penquis in the Bangor area.

The Brewer Library group has already collected 68 infant hats, which will be donated to Penquis by Saturday, September 30. If you would like to join the Library Knitting Social, the group meets each Friday morning, 9:30-11 a.m. — bring your own projects/materials, no RSVP necessary. For further questions about the Knitting Socials, call the Library at 989-7943.
