Little League: Deane’s walkoff gives Forrest Auto Body victory over Kiwanis

On Wednesday June 7 at Winterport field, a walk-off single led Forrest Auto Body past Kiwanis 6-5 on Wednesday. The game was tied at five with Forrest Auto Body batting in the bottom of the seventh when Brock Deane singled off of Andrew Cote, driving in Sam Dakin, who had doubled to lead off the inning.  

 

Kiwanis scored three runs in the first inning, but Forrest Auto Body still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Kiwanis came thanks to a single by Andrew Lyons and a stolen base.

 

In the bottom of the fifth inning, Forrest Auto Body tied things up at five. Nate Downs drove in two when he singled.  

 

Forrest Auto Body scored four runs in the fifth inning. The big inning was thanks to a groundout by Aaron Donovan, a double by Brock Deane and a single by Nate Downs.

 

Sam Dakin earned the win for Forrest Auto Body. He went five and a third innings, allowing two runs, three hits, and striking out seven. Andrew Cote took the loss for Kiwanis. He threw one and one-third innings, giving up one run, three hits, striking out three, and walking one.

 

Ryan Adams started the game for Kiwanis. He went four and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs, five hits, and striking out nine. Corben Palmer started the game for Forrest Auto Body. He threw one and two-thirds innings, surrendering three runs, two hits, and striking out three.

 

Forrest Auto Body collected eight hits. Garrett McLeod and Brock Deane each collected multiple hits for Forrest Auto Body. Aaron Donovan, Nate Downs, and Brock Deane each drove in two runs to lead Forrest Auto Body. Forrest Auto Body tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Garrett McLeod led the way with three.

 

Andrew Lyons went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Kiwanis in hits.
