Little League: Forrest Auto Body loss a tough match with Hermon Harleys

Even though Forrest Auto Body and Hermon Harleys both had their opportunities, it was Hermon Harleys that eventually prevailed 13-8 on Sunday, May 7 in Winterport Little League play. Hermon Harleys were down 5-4 in the top of the fourth inning when Toby Doyon singled off of Garrett McLeod, driving in two runs.

Aaron Donovan collected four hits in defeat. Aaron singled in the first, singled in the third, doubled in the fifth, and doubled in the sixth.

Hermon Harleys took an early lead in the first inning, scoring one run when Parker Foley homered with two outs in the first inning.

Forrest Auto Body knotted the game up at three in the bottom of the third inning when Sam Dakin drove in one when he singled in the third inning.

Hermon Harleys took the lead for good with four runs in the fourth inning. In the fourth, Zach Allen singled off Sam Dakin, driving in one run and Danny Fowler singled off of Garrett McLeod, driving in one run.

Forrest Auto Body scored three runs in the sixth inning. Forrest Auto Body’s big inning was driven by a single by Brock Deane and a double by Aaron Donovan.

Hermon Harleys scored six runs in the sixth inning. Hermon Harleys’s big inning was driven by a fielder’s choice by Xavier Jelks, a single by Toby Doyon, a walk by Maddox Kinney, and a groundout by Zach Allen.

Parker Foley earned the win for Hermon Harleys. He pitched four innings, surrendering five runs, seven hits, and striking out eight. Danny Fowler recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Hermon Harleys. Sam Dakin took the loss for Forrest Auto Body. He went two innings, allowing four runs, six hits, striking out three, and walking one.

Aaron Donovan started the game for Forrest Auto Body. He pitched one and two-thirds innings, giving up three runs, two hits, striking out three, and walking one.

Forrest Auto Body had 12 hits in the game. Forrest Auto Body tore up the base paths, as three players stole at least two bases. Aaron Donovan led the way with six.

Hermon Harleys collected 13 hits and didn’t commit a single error.
